Auld Lang Sine and Saw

By note! on December 31, 2022 3:12 pm

We did it family. We made it 52 weeks. This is not my first time attempting Weekly Beats but it is my first time completing it. Here are some thoughts in no particular order:
-The m8 has almost single-handedly made this possible (thank you Tim) and it an absolute pleasure to work with. The only exception being ease of syncing two m8s.
-My typical songwriting ruts and patterns are now very apparent to me.
-I have long overcomplicated songwriting. You really only need a couple parts.
-Inspiration makes better music.
-Write what excites you.
-Remove drums.
-Re-sample.
-Basically everything I need to do can now be done with the m8, a USB dongle and my phone. Long live PC freedom. Thank you WB.
-You all make some very incredible stuff. Glad to have been here with y'all.

Happy New Year

Happy to have gone through it with you! I love the retrospective list you made here, its so cool to force oneself to do something insane just to see what you learn along the way.
Thanks!

Same right back @ you! It's been a pleasure and a delight. Yeah the old "it's the journey" definitely stands true here. Even if we never do another music, we'll always have things we made - crystalizing a time and place, giving momentary form to things that can never again exist. Even a fraction of a glimpse into another's reality - a brief shared space - is fucking special. So thanks for sharing.
