Somethings gone wrong

By NeonRebar on January 4, 2026 3:33 pm

Something has gone horribly wrong...
and we are now powerless to correct course.

A mad siren screech has awoken us midstream to our destination.
Ships already low air supply worsened by a nearly out of control fire in steerage.
Almost out of fuel,
food rations low
brutal water rations,
we are forced to recycle 'everything'
A sickness has begun to infect the crew.

It is infecting our minds!

Below decks a cacophony of nauseating rumbling and vibration clutches at the bones of my soul
with frigid determination.

Forces vast and unyielding move in immutable, inertial force toward some unknowable end.

At this point it scarcely matters.

We are at each others throats.

Death smiles in keening, reptilian bloodlust.
Suffocation or thirst or hunger or murder
will soon rattle out bones to dust.

The hotless sun and lightless moon look on in hideous mockery.
How could we have planned so poorly?
The fate of all our greatest dreams and aspirations hangs in the balance.

Something has gone horribly wrong.

That piano is so evocative and expressive. Great playing.
Reminds of the NIN Ghosts tracks.
Really love this one.

Yes! So great to see you back. Digging the grit and moody piano here, and looking forward to hearing where the year takes your sound!

The piano sounds amazing, super interesting dissonant arrangement. Sounds like something went right, too!

Damn, those pianos hits hard.

Ambiance is spot on.

Ohhhhhhh there is a fantastic like, more industrial Ghosts VI: Locusts simmering here that I absolutely love. And the space is fantastic, you feel surrounded by all the elements and maybe they're not all friendly. Bit of drone on the outro is so perfect. Welcome back!

Super cool/unsettling piece! Very cinematic and held interest- was on edge of seat throughout!

Welcome back, NeonRebar!  Your kind of dissonance sounds cool.

This is wild in all the right ways, so good, favd

I love the whole sound and composition of this.

Happy New Year fellow midwesterner!
Our hearts have been so heavy for Chicagoland this year.
Feelin' the heavy in this track.
May peace fall on your city, on this country, on this planet.
