SNC Sketch 4

Last one for a while. Honestly hate this track. It has a lot of the sounds I wanted but otherwise it failed on ... well, everywhere. And it's drowning in echo and reverb. I am burnt out.

(I mean, I didn't even have the equipment for this till tuesday night, didn't get recorded till ... friday? I feel like I threw this crap together in the last 24 hours basically, despite working all week and practicing and blah blah blah it's crap).

Also put my shoulders and neck in spasm from bad posture and tension so whatever. It's garbage.
Jungle next week for the RMR Discord challenge then who knows what.

At first at had to check that I didn't have FFXIV Heavensward track open. Even though you think it's garbage I like it. it reminds me of one of my favourite winter locations. Impressive what you can get together even with limited time.

I still dig it, but bring on the JUNGLE! Happy halfway point!

gave me visions of dark silhouettes of wild horses off in the distance.  Loved it even if you didnt smile heart Jungle you say? Happy haifway! \m/

i'm sorry, but you cannot talk me out of being carried away by this.
burnout is a mf though, and i know you have been in the shit so i won't belabor the point other than to say...
i think all those feelings come through the song in a way that is very moving and real.
regardless, i hope you are able to get some rest and relief heart

I marvel at what you’re able to make even when burned out. This is beautiful. Love the drones and guitar work, so lush. Always a little in awe of what you make…I can’t do stuff like this. I’m with jwh, you can’t talk me out of loving this track. heart

Also, for the record, the Doctor and I are planning a somewhat Nasty track for next week. big_smile

In 6/8 jig time. smile

sorry to hear it's rough atm and that you're not a fan of what you did here. I love it and think it's great. captures solitude in a beautiful and a bit of a heartbreaking way to me. it's an incredible soundtrack for this train ride.

Love the textures on this, it's kind of like some kind of hidden string section.

As always amazing restraint in building up layers and I really like some of the fuzzy noisey textures.

As a rule I generally don't enjoy ambient guitar, but I always love the stuff you make.

Trust me, trust us, you'll go back to this later and find that it has a lot of marvelous tones and texture.
Heck, if you don't like it much, you can always sample a few loops here and there and have a great base for atmospheric DnB/jungle.
Hope you'll have a great second half of the year, bringing solace with tunes you'll be fond of.

Yikes about the muscle spasm! They are so painful. I flare up some really bad spasms and aches from laying around so much, but cannot help it due to how my condition flares up when I move.

I’ve also been going in and out of burnout, which I hate. It sucks when you have the time and energy, but the brain’s want for doing a hobby is what gives in. Feels like there’s an ever-present dance around one of those 3 things out of balance that leaves you upset for not feeling the fulfillment you know you could be feeling. But, those weeks where they do align are always so nice.

Sometimes a track drowned in reverb and delay is great. I don’t hear any problems with what I am listening to and genuinely appreciate the mood.

Sorry to hear you're going through a hard time. Hopefully you'll find yourself in a more positive headspace soon. Burnout is a bitch.

Also I very much second this:

Man, i was digging this ethereal, pensive vibe so much when it came on. So I was surprised to read that you thought it was garbage. I still dig it, reminds me of God is an Astronaut sometimes.

A great mood and atmosphere to pause and daydream for a moment!

Sounds like exploring a fairy tale castle/palace and the surrounding park, a creek and ponds. Somewhat enchanted and haunted. Witcher 3 Hearts of Stone like, although not as dark.

This is goooorgeous. The new amp shines so beautifully. heart
