MOAR TRANCE. Mostly M8, vox and fills and builds in Ableton along with the mix and master. Trance is basically a playground right now for me, some things work, some things don't, but it's actually a very 'forgiving' genre in terms of what you can do sound-design-wise so it's well set for experimentation. There are conventions to the arrangement too but a lot of flexibility there as well.

It's tricky to master though, because it's basically a wall of sound with precise percussion. The high end is sounding loud to me right now Sunday afternoon on my "makes everything brighter" headphones, but I think it's okay.

This track started out very dub-techno sounding because of some cinematic improv samples I used for the pad, which again, goes to show how the tools can turn something completely different into trance music. The vocals are doing their thing effectively but I'm not satisfied with this treatment yet, more to learn, a lot of variables that can fuck it up.

There will be more trance music to come - the M8 is really suited to building this stuff - but this following week I gotta finish my entry for the Red Means Recording Discord challenge, "found sound ambient", and we are going horror-ambient. I'd planned a horror-ambient cycle at some point anyway so might as well get a start, though we might be alternating genres a bit for a while.

Meanwhile, the horror-ambient stuff is gonna be proving ground for a setup for Starry Night Cowboy.

I ramble because I am exhausted and largely traumatized! Hooray!

It slaps!

Lovely! The drums seem to be dialed in nicely. Nice life on that pulsating bassline that feeds into your drop and builds and comedowns. The build up after the "stars" sample into the late drop is nicely done. Doing technical stuff like that seems to be the hardest part of making trance for me. This is my favorite of the trance series so far.

Great build up on this one.

The throbbing bass is super addictive.

I'm definitely grooving along to this one! Really nice energy flow through the whole song. Feels really polished and tight.

I love the build up with the pads!  Drums had me grooving the whole time.  The lead synths and pads have such a nice wide feel to them.  The mix sounds awesome! Excellent work!

Beautiful sound palate, mix and use of layering. I really dig your stuff!

Now that's what I call development. Slow transitions - bass comes at around a minute, the whoob at two minutes, vocals much later. It keeps the flow going. Many sparkles. And I really like the whoob-bass at the ending.

Such a great build and mix. Love the throb the  bass gets, and the break at 2.00 or so is super effective. Great sound design coupled with the awesome percussion. And a second break around 3:45! Nice vocal drop. smile

Fantastic as per usual, really enjoying these sojourns into trance heart

amazing track bro !!! love the vibe and the way it unfolds !!! congratulations well done

So smooth, infectious drums and the layers of synths with the pumping, great arrangement and progression to keep everything moving and making something to get you on the dancefloor or just listen with headphones.  The horror-ambient sounds cool, will be checking back to hear that.

Brilliant tune. That build up during the first half is just beautiful, but oh boy things kick off at 2mins. Such a well paced burner.

Maybe one day I’ll put up a mix as half as clean as this

This my favorite so far from your trance pack heart
