week 15, y'all. Another one in Gm made with Renoise, an Amen break, TD-3, Neutron, Pro-800. I snuck some Locrian in there as well which is only exciting to me. This one gave me issues but I finally beat it into something I'm fine with. I feel like my transitions could be better and the top end of the break got a little out of control. But here we are, another week in the record books!

Rips!

Superstrong energy. I think this is perfectly arranged and mixed.

love the the waves of pads and the pulsating deep bass. Excellent. I was head boppin'

I like that pad coming in and out in the first minute. It vaguely brings to mind distant passing traffic noises. So later when the sounds get closer, it feels like we're getting closer to the scene.

Nitpick: that acid sounds a bit late compared to the break. That's probably because of the long envelope. You might try nudging the recording of that track a bit sooner, which I know is somewhat annoying in a tracker.

Between the juicy bass and that melodic pad-like lofi sample at the end there I get some serious Portishead/Massive Attack vibes, really deep feel there.

All the parts sound great - I think your mixing woes in terms of the high end on the break and even some of the transitions could be addressed with a little gentle compression on the master? Sorta "glue" idea for the mix, or maybe even just some multiband dynamics push things together.

Sounds great though, gosh I am always envious of your bass!

oh heayall yeah!

BOH! Love the energy. The break just smashes you over and over. So good.

This is awesome!

Thanks for the comment! I do really appreciate and look forward to the nitpicks so thank you for that. You are totally right, I don't think i even checked it against the grid after recording it so no doubt it is off. I should have stopped to figure it out. Sharp ears!

Thanks, NL, I really appreciate the close listen and the comment. I think you are right about the compression, that probably would help a bunch. Thank you!
