Nocturne in Am

By Napear on September 14, 2024 9:31 am

Still in the thick of a school assignment, and life is very hectic for the next couple weeks, so I got a little ahead of the game this week and knocked out this piece a few days earlier than normal.  Not quite fair to call this one a noodle, it's been kicking around in my head for a few weeks, and I took the time to actually write and arrange it... the performance leaves a little to be desired, but all in all I'm pleased with this piece.

I'm super behind on listening to everyone else's music because of previously mentioned hecticness, but I'm looking forward to having some time to focus solely on music for a few weeks in Oct, so at very least I will catch up then... oh man... I'm just now realizing I didn't make a Clerks homage track this week... dang, miss opportunity...

absolutely gorgeous melody, Napear.
love the sound of the recording too!
was this a physical piano, or vst? regardless, sounds so nice.
hope you can get through the next couple weeks ok. glad there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

hope you get some rest soon!  lovely piece!

Oof. Stunningly beautiful. You are a tremendously talented composer, this was really special. Reminds me a little of The Haunted Victorian Pencil by A Winged Victory for The Sullen.

I'd love to hear something like this as an ethereal interlude in one of your ambient soundscapes heart

Lovely.

I am very pleased by your piece too. Wonderful.

very nice, good luck with school.

Very nice, gazing out into the night, thinking about it all and feeling good!

Love the tone quality of the piano and those lil pedal sounds especially.  A beautiful piece that soothes the soul.  smile

Thank you, I appreciate it.  This is a VST (Native Instruments Noire Felt), but I really leaned into getting that "close" miked piano sound, those mechanical sounds just always give things a notably intimate feel, and I think it played well with this track.

Almost there... real rest coming soon... I realized earlier today that next weekend will be the first real whole weekend I will have had this year... SO STOKED.

You're too kind.  And I'm honored by the comparison.  That's really good idea, I'm planning doing another ambient series (inspired by one of your comments), and the topic for this series would actually lend itself well to having some piano like this incorporated... so that may actually be a thing that happens in a few weeks.

Thank you, and I made it through basically the last big assignment for the year... not sure how I did yet, but at this point, I kinda don't care.  (╹∀◠)

Awesome, I'm glad this aided some literally starry eyed gazing.

Thanks, yeah Native Instruments man... their software is constantly infuriating... but man actual sounds they have, hard to argue with.  The Noire Felt is one of my favorites for exactly this kind of sound.
