Neon Racer

So I'm double dipping this week, this track is part of an assignment for Media Composition course in school. I think it came out pretty well (at least I'm medium happy with it), but I'm curious, what kind of a movie/tv show/video game, etc would you expect this to be for?

Wow, great atmosphere! Regarding your question: Battle prep in a Science Fiction space war setting comes to mind.

Excellent cinematic feels throughout.  Nice pacing with the percussion and arps that give it some Zimmer vibes as well.  It def has the SciFi qualities with a drone overhead view of something epic about to go down.  Nice work!

Thanks! I was trolling through presets on Symphobia 3 and heard that "flute" sound (actually a layered tin whistle and a clarinet) from the beginning of the piece in one of the multis, and was like "ok, how to I make that sound, EPIC!!!"

Thanks, the drums are completely Actions Strikes, which is like very much an easy button for cinematic percussion... one of my favorite libraries.  I love the imagery of a drone's eye view too.  I was worried that I had drifted too far from the brief, but it seems like I'm still in the ballpark.

Definitely scifi, I agree with halfbyte regarding the battle prep idea but it could also be the moment colonists arrive to a new planet. It's triumphant and hopeful.

Very cinematic, but I remember back in 2021 when Kedbreak made a song titled F3600 Anti-Gravity Racing League that was like a very, very intense companion to this if they were both in a game. I'll be sending him a notification in a bit.
The flute is throwing it off a bit, but this could be like an intermission song between races.

Ah yes indeed. The flute and the large sense of space of the intro take us to an ancient place with primitive technology. Maybe the memory of where this all started. The arps and synth really bring us more into a scifi universe. I like that you bring a sense of epic with the brass and the strings.

Devieus primed me but then I do see the kinship with the good old racing track of 2021 (how time passes).

I put that track on youtube below (under a different title):

٩(^◡^)۶ Cinematic was the goal for this one!  The assignment was to write "Epic Hybrid Trailer" music.  I can definitely see the resemblance to Kedbreak's track, good company to be in.

I'm so glad that it was evocative in that way.  I love the thought of the ancient juxtaposed with the sci-fi... and I will use basically any excuse to put the Horns & Trombones Legato from Symphobia 2 into a track... the "Last Stand" multi preset in that library is just one of the most inspiring patches I have ever come across, and I reach for it constantly.

Sure could be used for a dystopian series. Sci-fi, or even just current days but with some epic story.

at first I was like... this guy's music makes me think of scotland a lot for some reason... then the synth came in and I was thinking of some warhammer 40k version of braveheart XD

on a more serious note, some of this reminded me of the soundtrack for Star Realms

I'm super glad to see people using the work "Epic"... the assignment was for "Epic Hybrid Trailer Music"... and I was worried that this one wasn't "Epic" enough.

Just watched commercial for Star Realms... I may just steal the structure of the music for my third "Epic Trailer" piece for class (˃̣̣̥▽˂̣̣̥)
