Ok, well, once again, I only had a hand full of hours to work on this one... I wouldn't call it speed trash... but it's nooooooot far from it. Despite the time crunch, I tried to get back to practicing with hardware driven production. Still mixed in Logic, with a fair amount of DAW based effects and processing, but all the sounds (except the risers and whooshes) are hardware.
Still not as full a production as I would have liked, but I did get more parts patched up and recorded this week than in my first attempt... so progress.
I hope everyone's week 3 was as good as it can be in these times... I never thought I would long for the world to be more boring... but here we are... jamming because we must.

Like week one, this is mostly Access Virus TI2, which is doing both leads and the pad. Syntakt on drums; mostly analog machines, with a digital kick for doubling... and the weird "boingy" sound is the analog cowbell with a ton of automation on it (I had fun with that one). Then the bass sound is patched up from my sound design modular skiff. Basically its Bastl Pizza into Endorphines Ghost, with a fair amount of modulation of a few different perimeters. I used a 6 against 4 sequence on the Pizza's wave and ring modulation to get that pulsing sound, which I think gave it nice movement.
Then, as per normal, just a mountain of in the box effects. I leaned pretty heavily on Transit 2 to get some of the more interesting modulation on the various lead and plucks sounds. Then (because JWH has corrupted me) lots of TAIP to pull things together and add a some subtle saturation here and there.
Hopefully on the next attempt at hardware stuff I will get more modular voices going at once... but I guess that's also just hoping I have more than 5 hours to record something.
