TOAST

By mzunguko on April 28, 2024 11:06 pm

Another madlib with my son this week. Started with a simple melody and my son threw in some piano, lead, and an 808, had a nice 2 bar loop. I finished arranging and adding some u-he arps, sub bass and some background oohs and ahhs.

With so much buzzing around externally, I hope everyone is staying healthy and in good spirits.

Thank you so much for all your support, raise your glass this week we did it again!

To quote Haywood Banks: “Yeah, toast!!”

I like the atmosphere and the tones, and how the whole thing builds. But I’m really curious about the “mad lib” production. How are you both working on it?

The atmosphere in this track is amazing.

Awesome track! Curious to know about your mad lib production process as well.

A great collab with your son.  Everything gels together seamlessly and creates a lush sound world.

Oooh some dark vibes with the bass/drums combo.  Has almost a secret agent on the case sorta feel.  When the beats kick into amen gear gave me some jumping rooftops car chase vibes smile  Excellent synth leads as well.

you 2 clearly work so well together, i love this one  heart

I have a lot of gear, we would just pick tempo, gear, and key and then go back and forth adding to a 2-4 bar loop. We don't have the same amount of time anymore since we are no longer in the same location, but when he visits its always fun to get something going.

Thanks so much, I have as much fun designing sounds and acquiring sounds. The challenge is finding a place to find them with the amount of sounds and sound making devices I have acquired over the years.

Thanks, with all the gear I have and musical tastes it really is just a way to inspire creativity by picking a palette of sounds, tempo, and key, and going back and forth until we have a decent 2-4 bar loop.
Perhaps its not truly mad although we do have some unreleased stuff that is a tad bit crazier and unfinished.

Thanks, I always enjoy it when we have the opportunity to work together if only for a few hours here and there.

Thanks, you painted a scene that fits well with the track, I can totally envision this.

Thank so much for listening, its always fun to collab with him, I only wish we could do it more often and for longer than a couple hours a session.
