[spoiler=Re: writeup]A producer friend of mine and I have been talking about WB / craft / practice / professionalism about production and one thing we agreed on is that going a track a week certainly kills any of the "I'm going to tweak this snare for a week" behaviors (and its many counterparts, e.g. "I have 18 variations of this sound" type things). In some ways, I think that some tracks I've made in just a day have taught me the most, and (surprising to me) still allowed me to experiment, take risks, and discover something, even if I only had two plugins on two tracks for the majority of the 3 hours I was making the track. So I'm (slowly) adjusting my attitude that it's not production that gets sacrificed, but (for the lack of a better word) AMBITION. And I think that's kinda neat. None of the above is prescriptive, your mileage may vary, just sharing thoughts... :)[/spoiler]
