ADRIFT

By mzunguko on April 7, 2024 6:29 pm

Took a trip on good'ol MPC this week. This was what I was working on prior to last weeks beat madlib with my son.  Found some vocal samples that had the right intent (still planning on doing more of my own in the future) chord progression and some minimal drums.

This was programmed on my MPC one in controller mode with MPC studio. All programmed, arranged, mixed and printed from the MPC.

Hope you enjoy.

The bass beat really hits hard! Really dig the chord progession and always impressed how you find/use vocals. The MPC has great percussion out of the box?

Awesome great stuff. Love every single detail. Thanks

The intro is really nice and then it gets huge when the beat kicks in.  The vocals work really well with this as well.

i love how the beat dances around the chords, and that dirty bass synth cuts through so nicely

Love how the main synth bass sounds.  Such a nice groove to the drums and bass when your vocals kick in.  Really cool how the other vocal sample mixes in perfectly.  The main theme and progression has such a pleasing sound to it.  That mono synth sounds so good when it bends and rolls around.  Excellent track.

Thanks, while I am still working on getting my own vocals to a place I actually like them. I do like digging for samples.

I do a fair amount of bass layering, but I am a huge fan of big bass and drums. One thing you might not have noticed (as I was basically done with this track), was I didn't have a single snare (I added a block sample to give the appearance of a snare), don't think its missed.

Thank you, almost always start with some basic chord progression and key, usually on piano and then build around that. Glad you dug it, thanks!

fantastic track! fresh and uplifting beat. love that the bassline goes places, doesn't always rest on the 1 of the chord. string/pads also beautiful. heart
