The Handmade Arpeggio

By mysterioso on October 30, 2016 4:19 pm

I created a database of keys and wrote a script that outputs a note and octave value for a given key and interval, then I generated three sets of sixty four random numbers between 1 and 28.
I used SunVox to create each arpeggio, the Cubase to build the sequence, add FX and master.

Not sure I could handle a whole album of this but it's a nice concept and idea. Worth exploring imo smile

Yeah, it's definitely more of a proof-of-concept than a song! My next pass at it is gonna have additional 3rd & 4th octave sharps & flats for colour, and then it's time to play with note-length & swing.

Good base for a more varied work.

I'm always impressed when people create their own methods of generating sound.  Seems like it could be the foundation of something very cool.

Great idea, will be nice to hear what else you can do with this

generative music is an awesome idea, and this turned out enjoyable for sure, keep developing those scripts wink

A very interesting concept, looking forward to hear how you develop it further.
