Viking Roadsman

By myfirstpunksong on August 28, 2022 2:53 pm

I wrote this one when I was staying at a hostel in Asuncion, Paraguay, in 2016. They had a guitar there with only three strings. I used to play it every morning by the pool. This is one that came out, and I continued to enjoy playing it on my travels through the continent, even when a guitar with more strings became available. I remember playing it in Cabo Polonio, a town in Uruguay without internet and televisions, when a fellow traveller told me it reminded him of Vikings. Hence the name.

I never actually recorded a version til now. I recorded this a week ago, but being the damned prolific creator I am, I recorded another one which got the upload. The one I've been working on mostly this week I've started recording with a friend which I look forward to finish on my birthday (tomorrow) and upload for next week!

Happy Birthday!
This should be awesome to record in full, love the progression and also how it slowly rises to a peak, like watching a great ship(maybe a viking ship? smile ) come into view and overwhelm everything in its wake heart

Happy birthday! And I do love the story behind the track.

Awesome tone on this, esp once you start smashing the full chords.

The progression reminded me of dylan, it ain't me babe

Nice job
