All feedback on all fronts is appreciated.
Good to be back in the mix and working on a track.
Also enjoying the process of learning mixing little by little. Wanna keep it up over the next weeks. Was good for me to have a deadline and power this one out. Always enjoy it when I do. Need to make sure I make time for it.
This one is an autobiographical one of a crazy experience I had. I was inspired to write it after watching a Jay Reatard documentary where he talks about this insane experience he had. I forget the details but I remember him saying 'that was probably the most intense experience of my life.... and that's what that song 'x' is about...'.
I thought I should write a song about the most intense of experience of my life. This might well have been it. I wrote the first 3 chord riff and a first version was my weekly beats 2022 the week after this experience on my way out of the Alps. I thought it would be fitting to make this song about that.
My friend Andy helped me to write and record parts of this last year, you can hear him on bass and some backing vocals.
As the lyrics are a bit incomprehensible, I'll leave them here:
4 tabs LSD
Scaling the mountain
As we're coming up
We come off the path
Dangerous terrain
And we should've stopped
But you pushed it on
And now we're scrambling
There was not a shred or sliver left of control
Only screams and cries of desperation are called:
"Waooooaaah waoooaah waoooaah!"
I should've known better but I followed you up
This was adventure but it turned into a horror
Trapped in a madness now I'm looking down at death
-
See the news reach home
Mum dies of heartbreak
Word spreads around the town
That kid you knew is dead
There was not a shred or sliver left of control
Only screams and cries of desperation are called
Sha!
