I missed last week - no more!

Had fun with this one. Recorded all guitars in one ~1hr session in the French Alps. I would include a picture of my setup but it looks fiddly and I just want to get this uploaded now. Some editing in ~1hr session Sunday afternoon.

What went well:
- Got my 'studio' set up very quickly, in an outdoor, powerless setup. The battery on my macbook air is really shining.
- Enjoyed getting into a new rhythm in the 3rd section.
- Pen and paper worked well for the setup.
- 1st weekly beats from the road

Even better if:
- Would've liked to have gotten some vocals down. Had some ideas but never got to it.
- Spent more time on the middle funky riff. Could've used some variation in rhythm. I want it to be a bit more sprawling, unpredictable, rambling, and jagged. Still, not bad for a quickie.

Ideas for next time:
- Prioritise time playing with the guitar
- Prioritise time playing in garageband
- Continue using pad and pen for workflows, ideas.
- Be patient when working bits out. Use pen and paper to isolate different sections when needed.

One more week til May when I'm dedicating the month to focus on health and music. I'm aiming to churn out 4 decent demos in those 4 weeks, so really looking forward.

I really dig the build-up at the end! Nice job!

The story of creating this gives depth, this was fun to hear, got me going

I love that this one comes hard right out of the gate. That's a really nice riff you go going on there and I dig the energy. It must have been really nice to do some recording on the move like that. Must be great for inspiration.

this is tight! crazy how pro you can get it to sound with such a minimal rig

Yeah I like to do a little summary/review. I find it helps on my learning curve, especially when I re-read entries, and also fun as a log. Seems others enjoy reading too. Thanks for your comment.

Thanks. I have been enjoying writing songs that cut to the chase and don't f around. I'm a a few years out of regular music creation so coming back in its nice to just have a simple approach where I don't overthink whilst I regrease my wheels. And yeah, it was fun recording in a new place, recommend it!
