Feel like this was better as an idea than an actual song.

Enjoyed the disco beat last week and thought I'd try it again (but go dirtier), but maybe chasing the disco dragon was kinda forced.

Had some vocals for this that when I laid them down they just didn't sound right, so I made this into almost instrumental.

What Went Well
Glad to have showed up again, was good to get me playing the guitar and messing around.
Started earlier in the week
Enjoyed the grunt/scream vocals that made it into the song. The vocals that got cut allude to sex and that would've come after but hey ho.

Even Better If
Not tired and hungover on Sunday and finding it hard to get motivation to fire up.
Tried out more lead guitar parts. Didn't experiment too much and think this could bring more to the song. The one I have is like the Ghostbusters riff haha
Tried more and found better synth line. This was slapped on lazily at the last.

Ideas For Future
Less boozing. Work when fresh. Jam when fresh. Play when fresh. Not when knackered. If and when possible.

Hope you, the person reading this, is well. Thank you for listening and reading and being here. Much love

Nah man, there is definitely something in here.  The synth line around the 50 second mark changes to mood in a second, kind of like the Italo Disco resurgence of the early 2010's.  I dig it, a lot of fun.  100% needs to be mixed again though, at least on my headphones everything is on the same level despite being panned.  I really think you've got something here though

Well thanks, I appreciate that. I hadn't heard of Italo Disco before, gonna check it out smile
Will think about the mix, I was quite happy last week so I tried to use that as a template but think I changed too much whilst dirtying the sound. Maybe try to find a collaborator to breathe some life into this, thanks.

YOUR YELLING IS EXCUSED! and actually appreciated lol love the grunting

excellent DIRTY DISCO groove!
mix felt good to me, but i didn't do a super close headphone listen.
are you doing the drums live, or are they programmed? just curious. they sound great

Aw thanks.

The drums are programmed. I've definitely been able to improve my sound incorporating tips mostly picked up from WB! I do them in garageband. I often start with an preset beat from the AI drummer, then move it to MIDI and edit it to fine-tune.  I have 3 tracks for the drums: the main track for all the drums with a touch of overdrive, then two in the background: one which is the kit but with reverb, then one more which is just for snare reverb. I also wanna say I'm not bad at editing the actual drum bits in terms of when I want the drummer to hit harder on certain notes etc.

nice! and yeah, sounds good to my ears over here \m/

Very cool! Sounds like something the band Viagra Boys might record. You might find the song "Ain't No Thief" useful as a reference track for mixing.
