I've had this basic tune in my head for decades and don't know where it came from, but it probably won't be the last time I make something using it. I used an old FL Studio license, which I haven't opened in years, in anticipation of a trip where I won't have most of my gear. Messed with samples for the first time; surprised by how much sound exists in the world and how little of it is available as open source. And of course I added a really long intro. I feel like 50% of my music is me laying on the floor, getting put into a headspace, preparing for the real track to kick in.
Also, I mixed NASCAR and GT. I apologize to enthusiasts!
Learnings:
1. Switching between DAWs isn't gnarly.
2. Old FL Studios core sounds are really underwhelming, but they taught me so much, so I forgive them.
3. Sampling and cutting is samples fun.
4. Getting old stuff out of your head and down is cathartic.
