MEZAME

By mukti on May 17, 2026 4:28 pm

This track started with the fast plucky synths, building into something that sounded more like chiptune. After adding and tweaking the track a ton, I turned it into a more washed out kinda dreamy track (but still pretty upbeat/intense). Mixing is okay, but I'm sure I'll hear something wrong with it after I listen to it more. Any feedback and critique is appreciated!

I called the track MEZAME because I built a lot of the loops and beats while falling asleep and waking back up - not sure why but I always find that I make something cool when I'm dozing off 😅. "MEZAME" is the Japanese word for "the act of waking up from sleep" but also "becoming suddenly aware" - both of which kind of fit the vibe of the track.

The picture is just a flipped and heavily edited shot of the roof of a tunnel in Philly.

Oh yeeeah, I'm dancin'!!!!

The two different pluck melodies panned from side to side are very nice. I also love that kinda square lead towards the end. Very nice work!

Thanks! I really liked the dualing plucks and wasn't sure if people would like or hate the panning 😅

This is brighter overall, but still has the feel I love from the old Techno Trax 2CD compilations coming out in the early 90s. They all felt like you were in an awesome, huge industrial space with amazing but slightly questionable acoustics with a single person on a barely-lit platform in front cranking out amazing music all night. This track gives me a similar vibe and I love it.

Thanks - that is a great comparison, I love it! Definitely the vibe I was going for with the album art too 😅🤘
