KANTI

I found a sample of a person singing earlier in the week, and decided to build off of it. I cut it up a bit and tried to play with some effects, then put a beat down behind it. The added synths are kind of all over the place; I was struggling a bit to get something that played well with the sample.

Any feedback is appreciated!

The track name this week is the Esperanto word for "sing." I was going to go with vocals, but the word (kanto) loosely translates to both "vocals" and "song," which I thought would be a bit too generic.

The picture is just a random shot from the inside of The Oculus that I took when I was in NYC last week for Five Points Fest. Not related to the track at all, but its a super cool building and I didn't have any better pics for this week!

The vocal processing is giving some The Prodigy vibes hehe... nice use of the breathing part too!

Your track is missing a snare! it would work very well to release tension in the end and establish a stable groove

Thanks! I am totally missing a snare - this isn't the first time I've done that during WB 😅. I could tell something was missing, and that totally would have helped. Thanks!

I'd imagine the rain you can't really fit a synth into the sample is because the sample itself feels like a full synth already and could probably do with something more punchy alongside it instead. A plucked string perhaps.
