IMPARFAIT

This week I was playing around with a lot of micro adjustments and randomization in the sounds I was making on my M8. Can't say that they particularly stand out, but I think it helps give the track a bit more of a natural feeling to it, even if its another fairly repetitive track (ex: snares are basically the same throughout, but I increased the randomization in the velocity and the cutoff to make it a little different). Feels like maybe I was missing something, but definitely made up for the lack of bass in last weeks track 😅

All instruments were made on the M8, and the only samples used were for vocals and the random glitching sounds/risers in the background.

The track name this week comes from a band I've been listening to a ton this week, IMPARFAIT. This track sounds nothing like them, but the vocals almost kinda fit the name... almost...

Nice deep bass indeed.

I like the move forward drive from the kicks. About the "repetitive" nature of the track, maybe having just a B section with different chord progression would do the trick...

Anyways, I wasn't bored listening to the track so it works as it is too.

See you next time!

Flashy. Cool cover art too.

Thanks! It definitely could have used a different progression, and there was a pretty obvious spot to do it - definitely gonna try to remember that for next time!

Thanks! I didn't have any great pics this week, so I went searching and found something decent!

Thanks! That means a lot!

Nice bassy drone & great vocal sample. Definitely enough variation so it doesn't sound stale, but I wouldn't argue with an expanded version smile

Thanks!!

I wish I had a better vocabulary (but maybe that's why I write music instead of talking about it) but this kinda "chill techno" lands nicely

Thanks! My vocabulary sucks - I spend 10min looking at a thesaurus/translator every time I come up with a cool name 😅
