ATENTU

This week I was originally going for a city pop style song, but ended up with... whatever this is. After playing with it a bit, I think I like the end result even if its a bit odd and repetitive. The sample of the railroad crossing chimes, "welcome to the Shinkansen," and "attention please" were taken from videos I recorded in Japan. I attempted to clean the samples to the best of my ability, but there's definitely still some background noise and weird sounds that I struggled to pull out - overall I think they turned out okay.

As always, feedback is appreciated!

I debated calling this one CHUUI (注意, ちゅうい), which I believe is the Japanese word for "attention," but I stuck with my ongoing theme and went with an Esperanto word that has a similar meaning.

If I had ended up with a city pop track, I would have shown some night time shots of Japan. Instead, this is a bit more fitting - a random shot I took on the Shinkansen platform at Kyoto Station in 2022.

It's simultaneously chill and sinister. I like it!

You can totally lean into the noise, bet it'd be pretty.

I considered getting a "train platform noise" sample, but didn't find anything that fit. Definitely want to try playing with some more weird samples in the future.

Ha, thanks! I think it turned out okay, but I should have uploaded the original clips somewhere for comparison.
