Hello and welcome to week 3! (you made it!)

This week I decided I would try and make a jungle track for the first time ever. My goals were to come up with some breakbeat patterns and also use a reese bass. I spent A LOT of time trying out a bunch of drum patterns before I settled on what you hear in the track. A fun thing happened as I was writing drums: I started hearing/thinking about the snare as a reply to the kick. I don't have any experience with playing drums, and previously, I didn't know why I'd want to use a snare over (e.g. a clap+kick). All of a sudden I was able to hear this interplay in so many other tracks that I listen to. It was a pretty good leveling-up feeling.

The pads are compacted 11th hypersynth chords and the plinky synth is an FM synth patch. Nothing too fancy, but I'm also realizing that I had similar pads and plinky sounds in W1 & W2. Hmm maybe next week I'll actively avoid them...

Thanks for listening!

Very cool vibe. Love the interactions in the drums.

Love the energy in this track. Great job!

Yes, great job! I hope you find more joy this year as you flesh out your drum style/philosophy. 1:55 onwards is really cool.

I like the way you chopped the drums and your time stretches.

I like the stutter you have on some of these snare hits!

Thanks for listening! Yea the final section of the song was the very last part I wrote, so I was feeling a lot more comfortable with the arrangement. The first two sections were more learning/struggle times haha

Thank you! It's still a bit of a struggle to figure out what to do after chopping. I did get some new appreciation for the M8 sampler's degrade effect

Aww thank you for listening. It's weird, when I listen to my music I mostly remember the struggle of putting it together. It's really nice to hear that you enjoyed my tracks heart
