confused sand everywhere around us

Week 7! It's pretty wild to me that I made it this far. Things are starting to feel a little easier. Listening to all the music on here is so humbling and inspiring.
While I don't have much experience writing lyrics or singing, I wrote a free-form poem to to accompany this piece.

‹ Confused Sand (Poem)
These days, we are surrounded by confused sand
We dig it out of the earth
melt it into trillions of intricate connections
join it to metals
wrap it in plastic
run electricity through it
throw it into massive "data" centers
put shiny screens on it
call it "intelligent"
"magic"
in the end it's still just sand.
Don't let the sand-worshipping ghouls tell you otherwise

This week I'm continuing with my experimental streak. Although I set the bpm to 156, this probably plays out as more of a 78bpm track. I learned about exponential rhythms and tried to recreate them on the m8. Although I didn't quite land where I wanted, I did arrive at a fun modulated trance-gate thing. A lot of this was inspired by another sketch I made a while ago where, midway through the song, I accidentally set the tempo to 10bpm and it made everything sound unhinged. Alas, I ran out of time, so I'll have to come back to these techniques in future weeks.
Thanks for listening!
