My Little World

It was originally titled My Empty Room, but it's too happy for that kind of emptiness. This one started out with the opening loop getting stuck in my head, and (finally) I managed to expand it out. I'm actually happy with how it ended up. It's all M8 and all original synth patches except for the snare and kick - both of those are in the Samples From Mars essentials pack if you need them.

This one was odd - I wanted to add a second lead, something I could use for a very obvious C part, but adding it messed up the momentum of the track. It felt like I was diverting all the energy into a black hole, and I wasn't able to land it. So I pulled all those parts except for the 8 bars I used for a bridge. The project is a mess, BUT I had an idea...

Since this is one of the weeks where I would normally submit the track both to WB and the M8 Community Jam (it's a thread in the M8 Discord), I duplicated this project and substituted all the parts featuring the first lead with the stuff I had written for the second lead. Since the theme for the jam is "Crunchy", I added some bit crushing and generally dirtied it up. Apart from the lead swap, some different synths, and a couple notes adjusted in the bass line, both tracks are the same. Unfortunately, as I was working on the Jam version, I realised the "second" lead is the stronger of the two.

Anyway. At the last minute, I added the little bass solo. This meant I needed to add one to the Jam track as well, but I had already duplicated the project and started messing with it, so I just did a different bass solo for that one. Hopefully even though they are basically the same track they sound different enough to be interesting.

The drums and a couple of the arps are indeed super crunchy, which I always love the sound of. I really enjoyed that kind of "rising guitar" transition around 1:15 or so.

I really like the metallic melodies bouncing through. Rad track. Thanks for inviting us to you world for a while smile

Bass line is the star of the show here. smile (IMO, some people maybe prefer the fun top melodies, but yeah, that bass sounds great and is super bouncy, well played!)

puts me in a good mood. love the groove and the happy melodic elements. some inspiring arrangement details here for me too.

mmmm, that was one tasty, tasty slide.
Very joyful little world, with a bit of a strange distortion in the lead. Mildly concerning.

I really love the perc in this track. Solid arrangement and delightful chord progression. Bang up job!

Love the pacing between the drums and the sweet bass line.  Oooh that slide so nice!  The intricate drums sound great too.  Excellent work!

One cool world you got there. 😎
Love the pep in this beat!

definitely not an empty room -- i count at least 5 different entities in the room, and they are all looking to jam!

That bass is going places cool smile Love the movement on the pad that comes in halfway as well. Good stuff!
