Corrosive

Since my last outing with the Stylophone DS2 drone synth I wanted to pair it with my Monotribe for double the analogue goodness, which is what I did this morning. I did 8 takes, and the first one was the best - more subtle, better build, less messing around, so...yeah. It was still lots of fun to explore noise thrills.
The Stylophone is doing the drones, and the Monotribe is the lead line and percussive elements. The filter on the Monotribe is notoriously dirty, so there's an audible click on the envelope when notes are triggered. Usually that's a mild annoyance, but I was delighted with it this time around because it gives a fun, uneven rhythmic pop throughout even when notes are (technically) not playing. Free marching percussion! The Stylophone is working mostly with just one of the oscillators, with the other repurposed for modulation to add some grit. I did try harder to reduce the hiss this time around.
Anyway. I wanted to get something weird and dark and have the Monotribe's glorious grunge part of the action.
