tried some lofi cause i didn't have time this week

will write excuses for this later, got to get flying

edit: it's been too long, i forgot all my excuses

Lo-fi is always good.

No excuse necessary or desired - this is a lovely, smooth groove. I really like how the poem is incorporated.

Twin? I think your track is by far better than mine!

Can never go wrong with lofi tbh. Love it.

What is your lofi sauce?

it's hard to go wrong with lofi which is why I thought I set myself up for an easy week. its not great but not offensive so I'll take it. I'm not hip enough to understand what lofi sauce means ><

Lofi sauce like what do you do to make something not lofi sound lofi if anything other than sampling stuff that’s already lofi

I used to use some “vhs simulator” and I have a bunch of tape plugins and Ableton roar has some good presets now as well but I haven’t done vanilla “lofi beats to study/relax to” in a while I’m a bit out of practice. my last attempt

Aha sorry im stupid. I should have known. Yeah there are no lofi samples in there. There’s an rc-20 instance with vinyl 2 crackles, a whole lot of eq low and high cut (more of that limited range so it’s almost like listening through the phone) and some crunchy compression incl the kick ducking everything pretty indiscriminately.

I don’t know if I got close to what it sounds like nowadays but from memory the mix sounds pretty close to what I remember from early 2020s. Maybe I’ve been a bit too aggressive on cutting highs.

Oh and satin which is u-he’s tape simulation which I’ve used for both saturation and delay

Excellent lofi feels.  Piano has a lovely nostalgic feel to it and the drums are laid back giving me these warm feels through the winter cold.  nice work!

You've got some super killer tape/vinyl emulation on this, I love it! Also it's super restrained and laid back, but still super locked in. Everything feels right in the pocket. Great job!

Super chill vibes. Absolutely nailed the chill feels.

Thank you so much for listening and the nice comments. btw I was trying to create a lead on the m8 for the w8 track inspired by you but failed so badly I had to delete it. one day...

Thank you a ton for listening and the kind note!

Aww, I was looking forward to the excuses haha. The lofi is very pleasantly mellow. The spoken poem fits perfectly. I'd say it's a successful track!

Thank you kindly sir and sorry for missing this comment until now. I don't remember all the excuses but I guess it amounted to no time ><
