This track was super chill until I added the lead.

I fell asleep many, many times at the keyboard while working on this and waiting for my wife to come home. The lead will wake you up though.

As per usual, here's a link with a slightly improved version: Soundcloud

oh I love the background noise on this, and the simple percussive kick and clicks and pops, the brief samples. good work!

thank you very much, both for listening and for the comment. yeah I think that's my favorite as well (the lofi-glitchiness of it all). I normally dont work with drum loops but this one was basically completely built around one. it has lovely pops and crackles that I just added to and worked on making sure the rest of the track felt lofi and glitchy as well. dont think I managed to do that in a good way on the lead instruments and then I ran out of time!

Yup, the noise and crackles are awesome. I like the mood of the track. For me it's not the lead that wakes me up. It's a bright sound, sure. But it's not playing anything particularly energetic. For me it's the kick. I feel it's too loud for a chill track. Also too clickly and aggressive sounding. For it be a chill track for me, that is.

Anyway, lovely dreamy atmosphere.

thank you muchly for listening, the nice comment and very fair critique. I think I was reflecting too much on my own journey with the track when I said the lead woke me up. i hadn't dialed the kick up to 11 at that point ><

You're welcome. And yes, it can be so hard to look at your own music that you've spent hours on objectively. Gets even more insanely difficult when you're drifting in and out of sleep while you're doing it. So no shame in that.

Really enjoyed the deep sound of the main pad synth.  It's a nice contrast with the kick and glitch percussion. Beautiful lead melody that takes you to a peaceful place.

I think it's the drums that wake me up, very upbeat
