Listening to the SC version again. Spooky stuff, indeed. The sound design is neat. It's all clear and bright, which is nice. I think it could benefit from a haunting melody on top, to give the track some more to latch onto. But that can be hard to pull off when you're speedtrashing your way to upload time.

listened on SC, and yeah - i think that piano adds a nice element.
not sure if it was on purpose, but that beat reminds me of the Fri.the 13th ki ki ki whisper sound 
and nothing to feel guilty about in my opinion. this thing is a marathon. we all have weeks where we have to take it easier. i'm really enjoying your tracks this year

Ooof those droney background pads are haunting!  The percussion adds an extra element to the suspense of the track.  I've been bingeing the X-Files again and this would fit in perfectly with an episode. Well done!

This so atmospheric . I listened to the weeklybeats version without piano, and it sounds great. I love the little breathy voices that come in. The drum patterns build up a nice tension

As a fellow virgin of the ears I totally agree! The gap between our high standards for ourselves and the impact on an audience can be staggering. Really great tone choices here and seems perfect for a movie or game soundtrack with all that atmosphere

I didn't think about it but that sound is so iconic that maybe it subliminally moved me in that direction. No time to think when you're speed trashing!
