Love the neon cityscape vibe in this. I felt very mellow and a little melancholic listening to it. Those hypersaw chord stabs are a really nice touch. Also love how the vocals sit in the mix

+1 from me for aiming for a genre and missing; I feel like I could write that for so many of my own tracks on here. The important thing is to keep trying because you're gonna get closer and closer

I don't know anything about hip-hop. So I have no idea how far you ventured off course, but I like where you ended up. It has a lovely relaxed/floaty quality to. The main lead line sounds like a saxophone does in the old film noire inspired scenes in 80s police thriller movies. Like a rain soaked alley on a hot summer's night. Nicely done monstret!

i really enjoy the kinda plucky sound against the drums, such a good combo. it may not have been what you were planning, but i dig where it landed! best to let the songs take the wheel usually i think

I wouldn't know where to begin with hip hop (okay that's a lie, I'd begin by listening for like a week till my brain is saturated, but that's just me), ANYWAY, this sounds great tho even if it diverged from your goals. That warm synth pad lead really reminds me of Thomas Barrandon, particularly tracks off The Quiet Earth, and while that album is firmly synthwave he definitely leans into a lot of genres in terms of rhythm and percussion... which is an advantage there, and here, because you can experiment a lot and get really fun songs, like this one!
