Songwriting In The ICK Era, or Protecting Pedophiles Is Wrong

Here is a Hyperpop-ish romp about ugh...

Lyrics
I like writing songs
You should sing along
The chorus must be strong… so how about,
“Protecting Pedophiles is wrong”?

I should just be focusing on chord progressions, but
Cheato got me bugging about state aggression
My lyrics usually aren’t about politics. ...that rhymes with,
“Mr. $50K can eat a bag of *****”

I like writing songs
You should sing along
The chorus must be strong… so how about,
“Protecting Pedophiles is wrong”?

“Bring me your tired and your poor and your hungry
I've got a concentration camp in Kansas City”
I often write lyrics that are pretty heady
But this president's precedent is downright petty

I like writing songs

“Protecting Pedophiles is wrong”?

Phewweeeee.... this one had me racing the clock.
Learning the Deluge - yeah, this week I got a lot of practice resampling clips to buy back some polyphony. YIKES. There might be still be a few clicks and snags in there but I gotta make the deadline!

The lyrics are admittedly a bit petty, but I'm just playing President Petty's own game.

I mean, who can argue with a chorus like that? Especially like it the second time with the organ-y transition. And I really the way the stereo goes wide for the blown-out phonk verses. The whole song swings between an artifical sickly sweetness and loopy rage and... yeah, that feels about right for the ICK era

Thank you. Ugh. Still just a rat in a cage, but I will give it a good shake at least.

Goddamn amazing. Great goofy sounding jpoppy chorus with an important message (that one would think is obvious)…and then the verses go full on dark and crazy. Well produced and tying those two styles together was a trick. Awesome.

I thought I was making Hyperpop and it just became this thing... lol

Wow. This song was fantastic, and completely not on my bingo card to hear today. Great work! Love the message, too.

Crazy azz drop. I don’t think the lyrics are petty, they’re relevant. Also some really cool vocals stabs hiding in the call response to your vocals. Please tell me you listen to MC Lars?
