To Squeeze 100 Musicians Into 1 Handheld Device...

Today's ambitious goal was to attempt full orchestral music on m8. I say today because I did in fact only give myself today to do it, and in fact only ended up having 2 hours... again.
The process was to take samples of orchestral instrument sections (or 1st chairs depending) and sample them into m8, then build in m8, then "bounce and merge" aka render, then load that as a sample to fire off in one channel, which I ended up only having time to do for the string ensemble, then built layers of solo winds/brass on top. Using only 1 sample for each instrument, some didn't pitch very authentically, namely the flute and oboe, which ended up sounding quite synth-like actually. Anyway, I had fun with it, and had I more time to do something like this in the future I'd love to push it further doing more and more bouncing and merging till it was more like the full orchestra I envisioned (as well as having more than one section that just loops haha).

beautiful track and super dope accomplishment to do it on M8!! The only issue I have with it is that orchestral music wouldn't necessarily be so loopy, but hey it was 2h ???? well done for 2h. But hope u do more like this with more parts! wonder how that will work on M8, I got pretty confused when I had to make stuff that scrolls more than a couple screens.

oh ya you're absolutely right, and yes it was the time constraint that got in the way. My plan was something quite elaborate and "through-composed". Maybe next time! Haha
