Stargazing at Lost Creek Lake

By ModalModule on August 21, 2022 9:00 pm

So we're roadtripping through Oregon the next couple weeks, and I'm keeping up with my WB with the help of my oh-so-portable m8. Last night we found ourselves at this lake where I sat on the shore listening to the crickets, and started to hear this pleasant lil tune (that followed their rhythm). I set about recording them with my phone then transferring it to the m8, and put the rest together while staring at the stars. smile

Such an awesome workflow and great result

I was sad that I missed the weekly ModalModule WB stream, but I see you had a good reason to miss it. I love the result! The crickets really remind me of Boy Scout camp when I was a kid.

I hope you stream how you made the guitar sound sometime. I'm working on a ukulele sound myself, but what you have here sounds better than where I'm at so far.

Very pleasant and relaxing
it's beautiful

You know you're the first person to share "missing" my stream. I really appreciate that, and that motivates me to try to be consistent. I'm on this trip for one more beat, and will likely not have internet when I make it, let alone an easy way to stream through my mobile setup, but I'll definitely get back to it by next week. Meanwhile, this sound was honestly just plucked with the parameters tweaked and primarily with an lpf with the cutoff down a ways, to remove the harsh highs. I wasn't even fully satisfied with it personally but settled for lack of time.
