Sleepless

By Mission Crossing on January 28, 2024 4:43 am

It's been a stressful week at work, and lack of sleep breeds less creativity for me. Thankfully I was able to pull this together on Saturday night. Enjoy!

Every epic movie needs a moment of downtime, and so does every epic person. This is honestly pretty solid synthwave.

Fantastic synthwave. Another favorite from Mission Crossing. heart

Gorgeous as always. Something about that shuffling chip lead at the ~1:00 mark reminds me of the kind of textural elements you might hear in Ace Attorney / Ghost Trick (which is AWESOME). heart

love the startup sound, and great brooding progression that turns surprisingly upbeat. did you cure your insomnia by driving through a neon lit cyberpunk dystopia?

Well done! I wish lack of sleep would produce music like this for me.
now get some rest!

Oooh, this is some sleepy Synthwave.  I can hear how tired you are, in a good way.

I used to write when sleepy, now I just sleep.

So nice contrast between the very driving beats and the tired (in a very good way!) melody, great work!

The atmosphere you created here is highly enviable. Every instrument spot on. The only thing I can say I personally wanted was a beat slowdown following the beat speed up..  I just really like beat slowdowns though. lol. Great work.

Epic!  Love how the lead synth sounds almost like a vocal.  Definitely driving through a neon cyberpunk dystopia.  What Ekbatfoo said.

You can never go wrong with a continuous bass. I like the leads around 1:38, when they get all fuzzy and then we have the wailing build up. I'm with you with stress+lack of sleep = zero fuel in the tank for creativity. Need to watch movies, read books, listen to music, or roll in the mud to recharge ideas.

your sleep loss is our musical enjoyment gain!

LOVING that drone

I wish. I think cyberpunk stuff just makes me more awake.
