wanna say what

A large part of life for me as a product management person in a software startup is dealing with many inputs from many different people. I talk to the technical people, the businessey, the sales types, everyone. They say many things, ask many questions.  Sorting it all out, making sense of it, then coming up with some outputs to communicate to those humans in ways that make sense to them is my job. Getting everyone on the same page as we like to say. It fills up my head. This week I was also preparing for a trip to the Washington coast to see some family and the ocean. That also took some planning and some communicating. So I sat down to make some music with a full and chaotic mental space. I made synth sounds, percussion sounds and mouth sounds. From the busy mental space, to the busy aural space. Getting it all out. That process from mental to aural is very therapeutic for me. Listening back, I hear some sounds that remind me of aspects of the work life and the planning a vacation life. Fun. So that's why this edit of a Tuesday jam is a little chaotic. That's life. Grateful to be able to create things and share then. Grateful to hear what others make and share. All of our interesting lives across this planet, all of our unique creations. In awe, I am.

Now for a few days on the coast. I bet the ocean will communicate different things to me. It doesn't want deadlines and summary slide decks. It just is. And I also want to just be. Maybe next week, I'll put those things into a new creation.

Definitely many chaotic elements and an uncontrolled overload of voices and inputs. Still you are keeping the balance very well. I now see clearly what your job is about. Hope you can find some relaxation at the oceanfront.

This very clearly communicates the feeling of being at the center of a whirlwind of chaos and holding everything together.  I always find the ocean inspirational.  Looking forward to seeing what it says to you.

Wonderful. I can relate from that mental noise filling the head, from my days at the university, talking with students, colleagues, administrators, management, HR people, librarians... Music can help to clear the clutter and get it out.

I love chaos. I love how you describe the creative process - letting go, welcoming the chaos, welcoming the inspiration, and being grateful for it all. I loved the textures, strange sounds, and pacing of this track. Enjoy your time on the coast, i hope you'll get good weather. And the ocean! The ocean never fails to deliver a huge NATURE IS HUGE punch.

If this had a cartoon driven music video the main character would be an octopus getting all the different tasks taken care of at once smile  Cool jazzy vibes throughout and love the sound of that synth bass wobbling about.

was thinking about the ocean a lot this week. hope you were able to find some pockets of peace during your time.
thanks for the organized chaos, cheers!

Ah yes, the university academia life does seem like it can be chaotic. That's cool you're in that world though, hope its mostly rewarding though. I agree, music and any creative practices helps so much. That's something they need to teach in university I think smile

haha, yes I love that image. I feel like I could use 8 arms, or 8 more brains some days. I would like to have an octopus brain and body for a day to try it out. Actually that sounds scary, maybe I'll pass. Thanks for comment and listening!
