The House When It Listens

By miraclemiles on January 18, 2026 10:44 pm

There were some bits and pieces, some odds and end. Some of them odd, all with no end.
Most of this recorded on a couch jam at night while the house occupants slept and the house listened. Change of scenery highly recommended. Take some gear to the couch or comfortable place. Play, relax the mind.
I have to get out of my music room, which is also the office I work from home in all day. Creating shouldn't feel like work sometimes. Need that separation of work and art and a change of scenery. Going outside will be nice when it's not freezing too.
Added a few more elements, effects, mixing and whatnot when I sat down today to edit and finish in Ableton.
Found some presets in the Granulator 3 device that sound like the house speaking back, jamming with me. Heard a little in beginning and more in the end.

Agreed that changing your physical space can often change your headspace.  The tasty rhythm section carries this along in a nice groove and then those horn sounds are great, too.  They give it a celebratory and slightly jazzy feel.

This was very funny, energetic and danceable too. Like it. Good work.

Having portable gear like the Circuit or the M8 is so nice. Different places bring out different inspiration.

a funky couch groove to zone out to.  I agree getting out from the office space is essential.  Awesome sound design with those panned out hits.

Tasty percussive patterns & textures

This is chaotic madness. Love it! Love the percussive elements in this.

excellent advice, excellent jam!
our house was listening and jamming along big_smile

Glitchy and spooky but also a lets fuggin go jam. The space on this one is incredible, especially at the end where that knocking shifts from "atmosphere" to "momentary rhythm", really very cool.

Loving this! Imagining a haunted house, playing the parts as you walk through the various rooms.

This is wonderfully weird. It's got a unique and off-beat feel to it, but never crosses the line to eXpeRiMeNTaL mUsiC territory. Tastefully different!

Agree with changing scenery, work outside or different part of the house, it does effect what we create.  Fun track, does have the feel of the house actually grooving along to the beat.  Listened to your Space Crimes album last week, really nice project, can hear how much fun you all had making it and awesome album artwork.

Totally get working from home in the same office I jam in. Great idea to get a move on. This is delightfully created.

It's a glorious thing when you can take sounds like this and morph them into what you have here. The slanky guitar is ohhhhhh sooooo good. Got like an acid trip in India vibe to it.
