solidarity drums

By miraclemiles on January 25, 2026 11:45 pm

Some days it all seems like a lot. It is a lot. All that's going on. I don't even feel like I have the energy to comment more, and that's fine. Woke up today angry and tired in all the ways. Wanted to bang on the drums so I did. Saw video of a bunch of drummers setup to protest outside in freezing Minneapolis. I did my little drum banging today in a small solo solidarity moment. Then filled things out on the track with a few samples, and played the e-drums to midi to get some bass and mallet sounds. It didn't end up the angry protest track I imagined at first and that's fine. Let's drum, let's yell, let's write, let's create, we're here, let's go.

Really good stuff. Great drumming and sample use.

All this garbage going on is exhausting and it's designed to be exhausting.  I think creating anything at all is an act of protest in a small way.  Let's not let them crush our spirits.  I'm drumming along with you in solidarity.

hell yais! love the drumming and the bass! \m/ air drumming in solidarity!

also drumming along heart

Head bobbing, so I'd say you started a movement.

Banging on shit is awesome, sometimes just need to get that frustration out, this is a great way to capture that.  That bassline is having a good time on this track, rolling over those drums.

This goes into so many interesting directions, while still keeping a beautiful continuity in that driving rhythm. Nice work on, not just 'drumming', but also incorporating all the other elements(bass, bells, synths) to frame these feels in a comprehensive style of ornamentation. heart

fierce joy friend!  i'm here for it heart

yes, bang on them again for us. Great listen as always

Missing you in W5, man! Sending you all the feels. This feels raw and emotional, and the middle progressive fusion part contains a surprising amount of life/optimism. Yes, as it should. We'll get through this. The way out is through.
