Sidecar Baby

By miraclemiles on May 6, 2018 1:00 am

First time all year uploading a day early. Running a 12K race Sunday, which doesn't seem smart, yet I do it every year anyway. This song was a jam with fellow Weekly Beatist License back in December. For this section of our jam, he laid down the synths and hi hats and snares. Can't remember the hardware gear he was using, maybe he'll add that info here for us smile. I had kick going and did vocalizations, got a bit weird. Playing with Live's Vocoder, I think the pitch tracking feature, got this crazy trailing fuzzy hi pitch sound. So made up words about a baby in my sidecar. He haunts me to this day ...
So this week I arranged this, chopped up my voice on a few tracks of percussive and glitchy sounds. Added a track in middle / end sections of Live's 909 sample rack for some meatier kick, some more hats and clap.

Good luck with the 12k!  Never done that, always wanted to do longer distance running.

Love the arpeggio and the vocal pitch totally matches the gif.  Like the rider is singing, and the baby is crying in pitch.  Freaky.  Hot beats!!  Great collab work!

The sidecar vocals are the perfect topping.

All the best with your run, sounds like a real long haul. I love the part where the kick comes in here, the groove really takes off heart

Something about this gives me the feeling like it's melting as I'm listening to it, which is a very neat effect.  Dig the vocals as well.

Thanks! Finished it in 1:09, feels good to finish, but a bit painful smile - Love that the gif kind of worked with this, I like the freaky indeed.

Thanks! Good times. Nice to hear that about kick, right at the end I added that and so glad I did!

Melting, that's cool description, yeah I get that too. Glad you dig to vox, still hard for me to put those down and harder to put them out, but I enjoy doing it! Appreciate the listen and comment!

Ha, must have been the Monomachine! The bits from me appear to be a prototype of this: https://weeklybeats.com/license/music/empty-promises
Dig your vox on this as usual, I like what you did here.

Must have yeah, maybe with some Oto Bam ... was thinking maybe the Nord also ... we'll have to keep track of that. Yeah I could hear similarities to you other track, which is my fave of yours. Glad you liked the vox, had some fun!
