Sangria Branch

Started with a song I did for WB 2018 called Sangria. Collaborator AM Faulks did guitar to it. I did Djembe to it (a common theme recently I guess), and did some vox to it ... and new drum parts in places. Tweaked arrangement a bit. Wanted a new bassline didn't have time. This one has some fun sounds that are kind of in background, some heavily processed horn samples, vocoded voice weirdness, and some stringy sampled things arpegiated. Maybe a little heavy on the reverb everywhere. Was challenging to mix, lots of competing stuff, still maybe not quite where I want it .. but maybe it is, it's got its own thang going on.

Sounds very cool as is, but would be interesting to see where it goes with future tweaks.  There's a lot going on for sure, but it all seems to fit well.

Great atmosphere, this has a really western, gritty feeling to it. Love the layers on the drum, it has a really cool organic flow to it. Nice!

The percussions are awesome, combined with the layer lines it gives an exotic vibe. Cool effect on the vocal. Sunny afternoon party.

After relistening to the old version, this one's much improved. Like a drug-induced trip cowboy adventure.

Thanks so much, appreciate the listen. Glad you thought things fit ok together, that's always my challenge when I layer things up. Future tweaks may be coming, this may be a keeper.

Thanks! Yeah I can hear the western gritty vibe now that you mention it, but was not working toward that at first. Accidental western grit. And organic flow = success in my book. Cheers, thanks.

Thank you! Glad you liked the percussion. Yeah I hear that exoticness for sure. I had mixed thought on the vocal, may play with that more. And a sunny afternoon party sounds about perfect to me, wish I was in one now, cheers!

Appreciate that input a lot, and that you listened to the old version. Glad you thought this is improved, I agree. I love that - drug-induced cowboy adventure - that's perfect!

This is a wild trip. I can imagine how an exotic ritual-danceparade is going on around a fire. Everyone is freaking out.. very very good stuff. I can`t stop pressing repeat.
