Possessed

So I missed my upload last week. Was scrambling at last minute, then what I thought would be a quick but serious conversation with the wife turned into ... something else entirely that kind of bummed me out and pushed the deadline. Damn, but oh well, the beat goes on another week. This week got together with bassist Ethan, who played on a couple of my recent songs, on Thursday night for jam. All the bass and the main section drum parts came out of that jam. We had just listened to some Liquid Liquid before playing, so some inspiration there perhaps. Then on Saturday night I got together with License, who was doing Weekly Beats for the first part of the year before dropping out. He brought over his Arturia Micro Brute and Korg Volca FM and laid down a lot of fun sound on top of the bass and drums, while I did some vocoded singing which is in here as well. Some fun sounds here, a groove I like, and best of all it came out of live sessions with friends, which is way more fun than me alone in the basement. I randomly started singing "You are possessed by the god of the drums" while jamming (and uncontrollably laughing at that lyric at same time -- it appears in the middle section of song), so that's where title comes from.
