Mad Time Scientist in the Dirty Low End

By miraclemiles on February 2, 2020 9:23 pm

Another visit from the Mad Beat Scientists to the South Hill Beat Dungeon, where they step into the realm ... confront, discuss important geo-political issues with, then ultimately conquer ... The Dirty Low End!!
This is an edit and arrangement of a live session from Jan 25th with fellow Weekly Beaterista License!
He did drums on the PO12 (and maybe some Volca beats) through the mad, mad scientastical Bastl Thyme delay thingy . Had me rocking out the whole time. Madness.
I put down dirty bassish things and some leadish things from the Circuit Monostation. Nothing does dirty low end like it. When that felt solid (and License was feeling it too), I transitioned to mouth sounds (vocals) through the Organelle and Kaoss pad. We had maybe an hour of stuff, so always hard to pick out the maddest dirtiests bits, but was fun playing around. Can't wait to hear what License put together from this session too. Full session on Soundcloud here: Basement Bass and a short video here YouTube clip here: Madness.

so good.. I've listened twice so far

Oh, yes, the bass is making itself heard in this one. Your basslines, blippers, and weirdo noises are on point. Also you made my kick rolls sound fearsome!

Awesome sauce! Greatness going on here! Subbied on your tubey channel

smile Yeah...

Dirty blip lurch cool

I accept your definition of low end. Cool stuff.

Damn, so punchy and funky! It's like alien hip hop. Love that dirty overdriven drum and bass sounds and samples.  Cool glitch effects. All works really well together.  Solid!

Those vocal sounds are trippy as hell.  As is the rest of it.  Nice collaborative effort.

Those kick rolls made me happy every time I hear. I got them in like 2 o 3 times ... wanted to find more, maybe a whole mad track based off those rolls!! Good times were had, and low end successfully owned. Couldn't bear to keep the vox unchanged like you did (and did well), so I pitched my voice up. Get into realm of weird blooper land I suppose.

Bass it up! Ooh this is the best kind of bleepy and glitchy, with a lot of oomph, you guys sound like you had fun composing this and it comes through on this end, kudos! smile

The synth bass has such a crisp feel to it.  The drum stutters towards the middle are a nice touch to the synths.  Well done!

Just wanted to add... I love your edit at the end, and your bass tone is great.

perfect track. that bass mixes in so well. And that computer sound works so well in combo with the lower sounds. kudos

Like all the bleeps and blips and the mouth sounds, great use of the po-12, bastl always looks and sounds like they have interesting modules.
