lucky ones

We did it! Final week ... kind of can't believe it.

I feel grateful, lucky and fortunate to be able to make music and share here in this community. Each year is inspiring and humbling. What a journey. I'm a lucky one, and I think we are all lucky ones to be here together in a such positive place to share our creations.

THANK YOU EVERYONE! Your music and comments mean so much. Being here with you all is so inspiring and meaningful. I will miss this in 2025, but a break to reset will be nice.

For this last song I decided to do another jam with my son playing sax. He's on vacation from school, so it wasn't quite as hard to get him to come hang in the studio. He even gave some creative direction. The beat and some arrangement and sound choices were from his feedback. Collaborating with him this last quarter of the year was a highlight I am also very grateful for, so seemed good to close with that.

This one had its challenges, some things just didn't want to come together. I put some mental pressure because it was the last week, but I had to remember, it's another weekly song, not going to be perfect, and the FINAL one of the year. I got to jam with my son who gave me creative input. Beaming with pride and happiness here, and that got me to the finish line. So now the goal is to collaborate with my son to do a tighter improved version of this for our EP we release (I hope)

I plan to keep creating and sharing in 2025, you can find me at the links in my bio.

I hope to find you all out there too, and hope to see you back here in 2026!

Happy new year and best wishes to you all!

Fantastic vibe, love the lo-fi-ness.

I hope my son and I collaborate on stuff in the future. He’s five, so still have some time to go. smile

Have a great 2025!

Another awesome family collab!  Love how the sax has a mysterious almost sinister tone in the beginning.  The gritty bass and drums take it into some trippy funk territories.  The big cymbal crashes \m/ Oh yais that outro! Have an awesome '25 and see ya in '26!!

The track starts like an Alfred Hitchcock murder mystery, but with the wah wah guitar evolves into a '70s cop drama. Such a great mood there! Wish the drums were a bit more in front. But I can't complain, the sax is awesome.

The track is a fitting sendoff to a crazy year. Cheers on finishing WB24! We did it! Hope 2025 treats you well.

heck yeah, what a fantastic track to go out on! i really love that you were able to do these collabs with your son. like it's super heartwarming, but also - he's a great player and seems to have good instincts.

thanks so much for all the music this year, and for listening and giving feedback on mine. and i'll say it again, i love what you did with Return to the 3rd Green House!

take care, Friend!

Cross-generational collab, that's SO COOOLLL!!! I envy you guys, that's awesome!!! I'm really glad you two got to work together on it. The energy at times feels chaotic and fun, and the distorted sax line jives so well with the grittier synthy bits. Super weird, unique and it sounds great!!!

See you in 2026!!! Thanks for all the great tunes!!!!

Hey five year olds can make some fun noises too! wink. I think when my son was five I thought maybe some day, then seems like all of a sudden it's like oh, he's pretty good on sax now, let's go! Yeah, I "lo-fied" this up. I'm mixed on it .. but that was the choice that was made, It's fine. Glad to hear you liked! Thanks for stopping by for listen! Happy 25 to you too!

Thank ya mucho. Yeah it does start kinds of mysterious. A happy accident that I think, the note he picked, or the ones I picked from the session, just felt mysteriously right! I like me some trippy funk any day, glad you got that! Thanks for commenting and listening! Just commented on yours to say hi and by for now. Have a good 25!

Oooh yes I like the thought of soundtracking a Hitchcock or any murder mystery, 70's cop drama pretty sweet as well, how to combine them somehow, that sounds interesting.
Yeah I'm wanting to revisit the drums, and other things, on another version of this. Appreciate the feedback as always. Glad it felt a fitting sendoff. I'm ready for the transition to 25 now. Conrats to you too! Was just enjoying your last two weeks songs ... that long one, WOW! Cheers, and all the best in 25 to you!

I'll share that feedback with my son. I think he's getting excited to collab as well, so more to come I'm sure.
So happy you liked Return to the 3rd Green House! I'm honored to have been able to do that.
Just commented on your amazing last song, wow! All the best to you in 25, will find you out there on the interwebs!

Thank you jegasus!! Appreciate your kinds words, I'm so grateful I could do this. Yeah this energy is a bit chaotic, not sure that's exactly what I want, but that's what it is and that's ok! Glad you liked, thanks for commenting!
Fure sure see you in 2026 ... keep making rad tunes, and enjoy 25!!

These collabs with your son this last part of the year have been really special.  I'm glad you've been able to create with him and the sax is just such a great texture.  Virtual instruments have come a long way, but I still don't think they can touch a real saxophone.  I've been enjoying listening to your creations for several years now, and this year was no exception.  You bring some great groove, funk, and trippiness to the table and I never know quite what to expect from week to week.  Looking forward to hearing more in the near future and beyond.  Best wishes in 2025 and hopefully see you back here in 2026!

First song I listened to in 2025! Entirely cuz I just had no time all day since I was kitchen-bitch for NYE snacks and dinner lol, but what a great song to start the new year on! Spooky, swirly, fever-pitch dreaming-psychedelic, this was awesome. Insanely envious of your son and his sax. I need a sax player around the house.

Awesome listening to your music this year and connecting on WB, this has been such a wondrous journey and I'm so thankful for all the folks I've met here, your tracks have been surprising and inspiring and wonderful in the best ways, it's been so fun. Looking forward to your music in the coming year! Happy new year! heart heart heart

Another great collab, like all the swirling layers and the way it strips back to reveal this 90’s style boom bap beat.  Again so great you could do this with your Son, I’m excited to hear the ep, that will be fantastic.

Another great collection of tracks, I always look forward to your creativity and the way you mix sounds together.  Always appreciate your thoughtful comments and positive nature, have a great year and will definitely see you back in 2026.

Woooh, first! ha, that's cool. Hope your NYE snacks and dinner were good! Glad you enjoyed the tune. Yeah it's pretty cool to have a sax player around the house smile smile  Was just thinking back to my first WB in 2014 when my son was so young, not playing instrument, but did some vocal sounds on a song or two. So surreal to have him playing sax now. Time is a mystery.
All the best to you in 2025, enjoyed your  music and looking forward to your music in 2025 as well!

Thanks so much Jason! I love me some 90s boom bap beats. I think this song needs version that's even more in that style, with less of my weirdness, but we'll see!
Appreciate you, and see you back in 2026 for sure!

Not perfect? You are wrong. It is!! I love the wild freejazzy funkyness in here. Your unique musical creations are always blowing my mind. I hope one day we can jam together and your son is still willing to blow the sax. Best for you and your family in 2025.

Hi, thanks so much! I'm happy you liked this one! I appreciate your encouraging and supportive comments! Makes me want to keep experimenting and creating smile heart
Jamming would be truly amazing ... perhaps one day ... who knows?!
All the best to you and your family in 2025 as well!

Daaang this is so cool haha. So groovy, so many cool sounds weaving in and out and the drum beat + sax are just oozing with goodness. Definitely scratches a similar itch to some of my favorite Nujabes tracks at times. Awesome finish to the year. Congrats on a great year of music!
