Fried Milk

By miraclemiles on November 24, 2024 11:44 pm

Created this one mostly from sounds from a live jam with License on Friday night. This was our first jam and we liked it. We went out for some food and tried some fried milk. It was like a delicate custard breaded and fried, finished with a honey drizzle for little sweetness which it needed.
Watched the Wicked movie this weekend. I'm a sucker for a musical and I thought this was well done. Was briefly inspired to try and create some grand melodies today but I settled back into my chill little beat and glad I did. Editing today was calming process, interspersed with house work, and exercise.
I added the ambient sounds and more chordal tones, chopped some things, cut it down to size and arranged. Had this prepped today for my son to play some sax on it, but he didn't end up feeling like it. We agreed we'll work on a track for next week, should be good since we both have some time off for the holiday. So, the Sax Son will return next week, I'm ready.

love the change up at 1:06 and the chops throughout. Chill groove with fun elements!

Do you mean ice cream? However, this is really relaxing, slow and still funky. The sounds are dope, no sax needed this week.

Jeez, is there anything they can't fry?  Fried milk sounds interesting to say the least.  Makes for an awesome song title.  This is a nice combo of chill, but also making you want to move around.  Like a mellow dance party, which is probably the best kind for me these days...

such a great laid back groove and jam. you and License sound great together!

now i want some fried milk! honestly, i'd probably eat my shoe if it was deep-fried...

Not ice cream but, dairy based! Relaxing is good, I enjoy this slow and funky feel as well. Glad it stands up with no sax. Thanks for listening!

Ah yes, the mellow dance party is where it's at for me too. Glad this felt chill and movable at same time, that's a sweet spot! They really do fry everything these days, and yeah, it's all pretty good!

Thank you, we have fun getting into our grooves, playing off what each of us comes up with. Try the fried milk if you see it, probably better than a shoe, but deep frying really does make almost anything tasty!

Great vibe the two of you got going here, smooth beats and lots of different sounds and ideas coming in yet all is cohesive.  Excited to hear your next collab with your Son.  Never heard of fried milk, I keep imagining it is somewhat like cheese?

Such a chill vibe, and your jam with License was a tremendous success by the sounds of it, this is a very cohesive musical idea with a fantastic mix. And always love to see the monostation pop up - hugely underrated monosynth, that and the bass station II, such a deep, rich bass tone. Great track!

Ooof love the sound of that synth bass with the drum groove.  Feels like a bright kaleidoscope of sound in those chordy synth tones.  Such a nice laid back and uplifting sound.  Nice work!

Thanks, glad it came across as cohesive enough! Yeah the fried milk was kind of like a soft cheese with crispy breading, didn't have that fermented cheesiness though, more sweet, but light, interesting!

Thank you! Yeah we always have fun and come up with moments we like, I'm grateful for these jams. I always try to make a weekly beat or two out of them too. Used to some videos too. Yes the monostation! I love this synth. Use it in most jams with License. I think its underrated too. Such good sound and so much fun. Pretty much no menu diving, just good jamming fun. Glad you like it too. I would love to play with a bass station some day too. I have ended up become a Novation fan, everything I have tried is just so much fun. The Circuit family become my jamming setup, just so easy and sounds do the trick.

Thank you! Glad you liked this kaleidoscope. I'm tagging this one as possible keeper. We always start the jams with the bass and drums and we've gotten that interpaly going well. Adding the synth sugar on top is the tasty desert for our meals.
