Clown Psychologist

We're diving deep into the mind of the Inland Northwest's world-renowned clown psychologist, George. Just George.
I was contracted to do this song by George's documentarian. All I was told for inspiration was the cryptic question: how many synth players could you fit in a tiny car?
My inclination was to ask "how tiny", but I just nodded, grabbed my red squeeky nose and got to work.
The director has since rejected my submission. But I still like it, and feel it has its place in the pantheon of clown psychologist documentaries. Just need to find the right scene.

So yeah, I'm just clowning around. Sadly there is no documentary. But I would watch one if there was.
This one really just started as many things do: with a click track. Playing the e-drums and recording the midi for 20 minutes. Starting slow. Increasing tempo until 116 bpm became the sweet happy spot for a Tuesday.
Decided to make all sounds on the Circuit Monostation. Used it in a recent jam with License, and the weekly beat from that jam. Neon Liminal commented he thought it was an underrated synth. I agree. And so I was inspired to play with it more this week.
Jammed with that for a long time, along with the live drums, just clowning around. Found some bits I thought I could use. Mushed it all together. Added some extra kicks and extra percussion in Ableton.
Made drones on the synth as well to get started on this week's drone-themed Disquiet Junto project, which will be an interesting palate cleanser to go work on after this track.
About the clown psychologist thing: I have been doing some improv comedy, and at a jam this Friday, someone made up the character of clown psychologist, which got me laughing. I forgot the person's name, I hope I meet him again. Credit and shoutout to him for helping me come up with a title for this song.
