A Monstrosus Among Us

This one's for longtime friend and collaborator AM Faulks - aka Monstrosus - who recently had a birthday. He has some awesome videos on YouTube. I like this one showing him drumming, with lots of trippy visual FX and a robot sidekick.
This song is from a recent session where he improvised on the keys and showcased some finger drumming virtuosity like only he can do. We grabbed a couple loops from his tasty organ riffs (Suitcase Organ in Ableton). Then he took over the Push and finger drummed along with those loops for about 150 bars (British Vintage kit with lots of snare rolls and 32 pads recorded in multiple velocities). Of course, both sounded amazing. Like me, he started his musically journey as a drummer. We met in 7th grade drum line. Marching in time with our snare drums, cracking jokes, talking about music. As the years flew by, he became an ace drummer, then got pretty darn good at all the other instruments as well. This song captures a small sampling of his skills.
