This is a song I originally wrote sometime in my twenties, but never recorded, because I thought it was too short, and really nothing special. I still don't know if it's "special", but it describes a certain state of being, a kind of exhaustion, so I think it has its place in the world of songs.

Lyrics:

Can't go around
Can't go around
Always have to get through
Get through the day
Walk through the door
See through myself

Never learned the skill of shutting my eyes
Shutting things out
Shutting my mouth

Shutting down
Shutting down
Shutting down
Shutting down

Liked this short ballad. Always have to get „throu-e-ghughu“ was the best vocal acrobatic in one single word. Awesome.

thank you, this is lovely. i would like to go shut down for a little bit now
your vocal and ukulele sound great together, like 2 old friends having a conversation.
thank you

ooh nice. grew on me as I listened. the song is cool, the recording ehhh not my fav. feels like a low effort recording but there is symbolism in it at least, so maybe that's ok. I might not be the target audience for this tho, but this style is a bit hard to listen to... would be nice to hear the feeling of being tired or generally the low effort feel transmitted in another way than the recording quality and low energy singing. like a ... high fidelity high intensity low energy singing...?!?!! if that's possible.

the lyrics are very nice, lots of depth in few words. thx for sharing!

This does capture that state of being so well. There can be so much overwhelm, go go go, sometimes shutting down is what's needed. I had to shut down a little this week. Just go close the eyes, put on some ambient drones and shut it all down to recharge. When I listened to this I wanted to shut my eyes and shut it down again. I like hearing the words sung. Thanks for the moment!

Yes, sometimes shutting down is needed for a bit. Thanks, it feels encouraging to hear that since I can feel a bit insecure of (the lack of) my ukulele skills but keep playing anyway as I enjoy it big_smile

Not sure if I understand the low/high/intensity/density.. Maybe I'm not the audience for that advice big_smile but i do understand the quality might not be everyone's cup of tea. And my perfectionist side is annoyed I'm even sharing these raw recordings, but I kind of need to challenge that side right now as a part of my own process, kind of focusing on the emotion, for better and for worse.

Thanks for listening!
