Pikku Mailin

Wanted to drop in for one last submission for this last week. Something very simple, but also special. I'm making up songs for my baby as she's laying on the sofa and practicing lifting her neck up and looking around (she's super curious and seems to want to get out exploring and gets frustrated when her limbs wont bring her forward. But thankfully she has two servants who carry her around, showing the lamps and plants of our house..) I decided to simply record one of my spontaneous songs with her. This is the music I'm focusing on for the time being. I notice some productivity programming in me saying this is not enough of a song, it's short and simple and silly. But that's why I need to share it, to challenge that programming and show respect for this stage of life. The everyday creativity. It is enough. That's a part of life too. And anyway, that's the music I want to make. Music of life. Sometimes it's sitting in solitude, experimenting with sounds by the computer. Sometimes it's singing with a baby.
Wishing you all a wonderful holidays/yule/xmas and new year!
(pikku Mailin means little Mailin, it's a song celebrating that she came to us. And the words change each time I sing it, I sing about what I'm observing her doing.)
