Bleed

By Minnamari on June 9, 2024 11:21 am

This is a dramatic song I wrote as a kind of "motivational speech" or "pep talk" to myself, for staying/ getting through a turbulent time in a relationship. The words changed overtime, starting out from the determined "to the end I will be a friend who will stay here", to the more unsure (but honest?) "I hope I can be a friend who will stay here"..

I did stay, and that turbulence transformed into something beautiful. But every time I sing this song now, I am transported to how it felt back then, when this song was a kind of life line. Music is interesting that way,io a time machine.

Lyrics:

Torn apart
Melting raw
Blood on the floor
Push me against the door
But I'd never want to leave
Not anymore

I'll take all you've got
Even the things that are not
clean-cut garden roses
Give me crazy in high doses

In the end I hope I can be
A friend that will stay here
A friend that wouldn't leave
No matter how hard I bleed

If I give my all
it all could still
fall apart
There's no saving
anyone else's heart

In the end I hope I can be
Someone to stay here
No matter how hard I bleed

Sorry to hear about the dramatic turbulences you have been through. It was good move to let us know, that it turned out to be a beautiful something in the end. This track was hard to enjoy, because of the suffering you experienced. But it was very touching, fragile and pure. A sad and true ballad.

fantastic sound, despite the recording quality! it has a lot of character, it is a true lofi bedroom ballad! Love the piano sound with the clanky noises, and your voice is haunting, esp the parts where it breaks a bit going higher. the emotion comes out intense, it's really the best kind of singing. thanks for sharing!

your voice reminds me of some 70s folk singers, woodstock style. I heard them all the time on nts.live radio on the "memory lane" station. not sure if joan baez or someone else a bit more raspy big_smile

I love your voice, thank you for sharing this heart

Great vocals and dynamics. I love the unfiltered clicks of the keys too. Feels honest, real, emotional. Well done heart

no to hurting minnamari heart

A deep and emotional song and lyrics, thanks for sharing. i love the background you shared. Songs as an emotional pep talk, how feelings evolve over time, music as time machine, wow, YES! So cool the relationship evolved into something good!

thank you heart

Thank you. Yeah, I felt the song might need some backstory.
