Alive

By Minnamari on March 22, 2024 2:20 pm

Sat with my ukulele on a particularly emotional day. Those are usually the best days for music anyway.

This time I wanted to also experiment with recording a video while performing the song. You can watch it here:
https://youtu.be/vA69giU8gtQ

There are some audio level issues since I'm new to recording my ukulele and singing at the same time (and only have one mic), but I liked the emotion of this recording so I'll post it.

Lyrics:

Even though you hurt me
the way we all do
there's no one that I'd rather be
with but you

Maybe we're all flawed
and that's the way it is
Without all the darkness
no light could exist

It's the oldest cliché
or perhaps the deepest truth
The person who can hurt me the most is
who my heart will choose

And that is the purpose of this
beautiful life
Through all the suffering you
know you're alive

Thank you all for your kind words. I truly appreciate it. heart

Beautiful song, beautiful video. Always vibing with the uke. The lyrics seem very bittersweet.

Bittersweet/melancholic tends to be where my music wants to go. smile Glad to hear you like it!
