i'm still working on spiffing up the old studio space a bit.
got myself a new mic, a neumann BCM 705.
tried it out on acoustic guitar, recording some nice chords, when out on the street this dog starts barking.
it really fit in nicely and gives this track a bit of an eerie underscore...

it's more on the cheaper side (cheaper neumann side that is) and it's promoted as their mic for radio moderation, speakers, narration, podcasts ect.
it's not really pushed as a vocal mic, let alone something to record guitars on.
but then they maybe just don't want to cannibalise their other (famous) vocal products.
i find the sound quite nice, especially since the guitar has a lot of air and can sound harsh on over-sensitive mics. being a dynamic mic, the neumann seems to take a bit of that edge off...
