Sim Core 2000

By LOHTANGCLAN on February 5, 2022 7:05 pm

Not really sure what I was making here. It's the result of me loading up my slightly neglected OPZ with lots of random samples and noises from the recent Samples From Mars sale. I guess it's a bit like modern Simcity/Flight Simulator music with strange drums and a buzzing bass line. Sim-core 2000.
Recorded straight from the OPZ into Ableton, then added a bit of reverb and effectsy stuff.

this is cool!  love the crunchy lofi quality and the hopeful vibe

Dude, mind = blown. I used the OP-Z on two of mine so far, one time not making any sound (just driving a VST to experiment with its performance FX / Master track), but this one I don't follow how this is done. Kinda vaporwave, kinda unlike anything I've heard in recent memory.

Nice one! Hopeful vibe indeed.

Thanks for listening everyone!

I think the key with this track, was removing all the built in samples & synth engines - I've never really been happy with the sounds I got out of the OP-Z until I started doing that. And of course I'm using a bit of BitSpeek to get that buzz and strange lofi-ness. Really getting a lot of mileage out of that plugin!

Love the dirt
